Shreyashi Bhattacharya is currently pursuing her PhD at the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India under the supervision of Prof. Jenia Mukherjee and Prof. Anuradha Choudry. Her research on River Adi Ganga in Kolkata, India, centres around the river’s historical evolution from a symbolic representation to urban commonality and understanding of the complex water-society connect influencing the socio-ecological resilience in the region. Shreyashi has recently been awarded the Writing Urban India fellowship by Centre for Policy Research (Feb, 2021) and the Huntington Residential Summer Fellowship by the Research Institute in the History of Science and Technology Caltech and The Huntington Library, California (April, 2021). In June, 2021, she was selected for the summer school on Resilience at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS). Her recent publications are Many Meanings of Resilience (2020) and Vulnerabilities and Resilience in post-Fani Chilika: Lessons from the field (2020).
