Md. Ruyel Miah

Md. Ruyel Miah has been appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Canada Excellence Research Chair Network for Equity in Sustainability Transitions (CERC NEST) at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He will be working with Professor Patricia Romero-Lankao at the Department of Sociology. With CERC NEST, Ruyel will lead efforts in knowledge co-creation and mobilization across the project’s comparative urban research in Toronto, Los Angeles, and Mexico City. He will work closely with community partners, policymakers, and academic collaborators to ensure that research findings are accessible, actionable, and relevant to marginalized communities. Before joining CERC NEST, Ruyel completed his PhD in Sustainability Management at the University of Waterloo, Canada.
