Md. Atique Ashab holds a B.Sc. in Fisheries and an MS in Aquaculture from Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh, specializing in sustainable aquaculture practices, fish nutrition, and induced fish breeding. He has hands-on experience in advanced biological aquaculture systems and Tilapia hatchery management from his previous role at Mohananda Agriculture & Fisheries Ltd., Bangladesh. Since September 2024, he has been serving as a Production Officer at BRAC Fisheries Enterprise, a social enterprise under BRAC—Bangladesh’s largest fish seed producer. In this role, he focuses on optimizing hatchery production and advancing sustainable breeding techniques for carp and catfish. After participating in the V2V Chilika Annual Field School 2024, he developed a growing research interest in the socio-ecological transformation of the fisheries sector, particularly in the context of small-scale fisheries and community resilience.
