Indah Susilowati

Professor Indah Susilowati is a Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Business at Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Semarang, Indonesia, specializing in resource and environmental economics, coastal resource management, community and gender empowerment, and community development. She previously served as Head of the Research Institute of UNDIP and currently serves as a member of the University Academic Senate. Since 2005, she has been engaged as an expert reviewer for Indonesia’s Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, contributing to research, academic career development, institutional accreditation, and publication assessment. Professor Susilowati also provides consultancy services to local governments and regional institutions and is an active member of the Asian Fisheries Society (AFS) and the International Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade (IIFET). She was elected for a second term as a member of the 15th Council of the Asian Fisheries Society (2025–2028) and has played a significant role in advancing gender issues in aquaculture and fisheries through her involvement with the Gender in Aquaculture and Fisheries (GAF-AFS) initiative. A strong advocate for environmental sustainability, fisheries management, and conflict resolution, she has dedicated her career to supporting coastal communities and promoting inclusive development. Professor Susilowati earned both her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Resource Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), where her doctoral research examined regulatory compliance with fisheries regulations across Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. She has authored and presented numerous scholarly works in national and international forums and currently serves as Indonesia’s Country Representative for the V2V Global Partnership Project, led by the University of Waterloo, Canada.
