Ahasan Habib is currently based at the Faculty of Fisheries and Food Science, Universiti Malasyia Terengganu, Kuala Nerus, Malaysia. He received his PhD in Biology (Marine Biology) from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Bachelor and Master's degrees in Marine Science from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He also received another Master's degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture Management and Economics from University of Tromso, Norway. He has been serving as Assistant Professor at the Department of Fisheries and Marine Science, Noakhali Science and Technology University. He has also served as Research Associate at WorldFish. He is teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is actively engaged with some national and international grants. His research interests include fisheries conservation, small-scale fisheries, molecular ecology, and climate change. He published articles in journals, books, book chapters and presented at international conferences and seminars. He has collaboration with several universities and professional institutions.
