Her research spans blue justice, blue carbon ecosystems, and the socio-economic impacts of climate change, with particular emphasis on loss and damage and climate-induced migration. In her work on blue justice, she examined how coastal development in Moheshkhali, along the southern coastal belt of Bangladesh, contributed to inequitable access to marine and coastal resources, disproportionately affecting marginalized communities. Additionally, her research on blue carbon explores how conservation and development initiatives can be designed to promote fairness, inclusion, and long-term sustainability, ensuring that climate mitigation efforts do not reinforce existing social inequalities. She has been actively involved in collaborative initiatives with local communities, NGOs, and international research networks, supporting participatory approaches to climate adaptation, resilience-building, and equitable policy design.
