Dr. Elizabeth Effah is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Coastal Management, University of Cape Coast and doubles as the Research Theme Lead for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation on the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) Project, University of Cape Coast. Her current research involves conservation and management of coastal and marine water bodies, pollution studies in the coastal environment, particularly effects of elevated heavy metals, microbes and other solid wastes on the coastal environment and possible restoration measures and climate change and adaption in coastal areas. Elizabeth is passionate about capacity building and research. She holds a PhD degree in Integrated Coastal Zone Management from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. She holds an M.Phil degree in Integrated Coastal Zone Management and B.Sc. in Fisheries and Aquatic Science from the same University. She worked as a Principal Research Assistant on two USAID funded Project (Sustainable Fisheries Management Project and Fisheries and Coastal Management Capacity Building Project) for five years.
